Oh Hey, Friday! Halloween pics from the week!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I am so thrilled to take Hallie Trick or Treating tonight! Look for pictures on Monday! Yep, the BIG costume reveal will be Monday!

What is everyone doing for Halloween?
Tonight we are going Trick or Treating with Luna and her Mommy and Daddy!

So I know, everyone has been waiting to see some cute Halloween pics of Hallie, so here we go:

1. This was one cute outfit from the week! Hallie has REALLY started playing! I mean she has toy preferences and will roll to get to what she wants! And EVERYTHING goes right in the mouth!

2. We also celebrated my nephew's birthday this week! He's 8 and I CANNOT believe it!

3. This kid! She is so silly! Wearing her witch hat shirt from Nana!

4. All dressed up! This day we matched Luna! I added the Hat later while we were at home playing though, I think she is going to enjoy playing dress up just like Mommy! :)

5 Hallie's 1st Pumpkin! It didn't really turn out how I had envisioned, but they never do, right?

I hope everyone has fun with whatever they have planned tonight! Stay safe too! And don't forget to check back here Monday for cute Trick or Treat pics!!!

The Day I Found Out

Today marks one year since I found out I was pregnant with Hallie Anne! In a sense I have had her for a whole year today! I remember getting in my car to go to school that morning and smelling something that smelled strongly like clean laundry! (Fun Fact, I don't usually do our laundry, I do Hallie's though) So I am smelling my clothes, trying to figure out if it was a different detergent that Christopher had bought.  Finally I remembered that Scentsy air freshener I had bought for my car months ago, that no longer smelled, that I hadn't bothered to remove was "Clean Breeze" scent and supposed to smell like laundry.

OMIGOSH! I thought there is no way I would have normally smelled that! I need to take a pregnancy test! Unfortunately my day was super busy with no time for stops.  At that point in time I was driving an hour to and from school each way.
So all day at school I'm antsy, I go to pick up my girls at school and I am bursting with excitement!
Now, that evening I was supposed to have my sister and cousin over to carve pumpkins, and I didn't want to cancel, especially if this was all a fluke (the Dr had said it might take a while), so I swung by a drugstore as fast as I could on my way home from work. I couldn't wait any longer it had been 12 hours since I first suspected it!
When I got home I got dinner ready super quick and took the test! I could hardly contain my excitement when it came back positive! Before I had time to digest the news, Katie and Hannah arrived! We ate dinner and carved pumpkins and the whole time I am just dying to blurt out the news.  But I wanted to tell Christopher first and he wasn't home yet!
As soon as he did get home, I excused myself to write a little note for him to hand to him with the pregnancy test as soon as Katie and Hannah left.  BTW! No offense girls! But I couldn't wait for you to leave!!! Ha!! Seriously though even though I was having fun and love my girls, I couldn't hold the news in any longer! So when Christopher went out to walk them to their cars, I breathed a sigh of relief and ran to get my note!
Needless to say, he was so excited! In a way it feels like it has been much longer than a year.  The horrible pregnancy itself seems like it was a year long! But I can also remember the exact way I felt when I read that test, just like it was yesterday.  That's the day I became Hallie's Mom.

eShakti Review

Good morning Momma's! Who here feels different after having a baby raise your hand? (My hand is high in the air!)
It's not that I still have a TON of weight to lose, but mostly that my clothes fit differently and I am not nearly as comfortable in them as I was.  I can go to the store and buy new clothes, but I never feel like I am one specific size.  Anyone else feel like that? I have long legs, big hips, no butt, and a small waist with leftover skin from where Hallie parked her cute little behind for 9 months!
So you'll understand how OVER THE MOON I was to hear about eShakti!
eShakti is an online boutique where you can pick ANY dress, pants, shirt, skirt and customize it to fit your body perfectly! No, I'm not kidding! Need a hem a little longer? They can do it! Don't like that neckline, fix it! Seriously it is the best thing ever! When I was approached to review one of their dresses I nearly exploded with excitement!
The ordering process was easy! (Aside from picking a style, there are so many great things to choose) It got here so quickly, and the best part...Check out the fit of this dress...it's like it was specifically made for me! (OH WAIT, It was!)

And, want to hear some great news?! eShakti is offering my readers a 10% off coupon credit when they use the coupon code "happilyevermock" valid from 10/21/2014 – 11/21/2014 Perfect for buying a dress for the holidays!

You can always learn more about eShakti by visiting them on Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter!

I hope you check them out! They were a pleasure to work with!

I can't wait until next year! I bet Hallie will really enjoy the pumpkin patch then! We did pick 3 pumpkins by the way, I don't know why it never occurred to me to get a picture of Hallie with
them, or even a picture of them at all for that matter! I'm going to blame this one on Mommy brain!
We got a Daddy sized one, a Mommy sized on and a baby sized one! I will definitely get their picture before cutting them open! Promise!

Also stay tuned, the finishing touches went onto my costume last night!
Hallie and I are officially ready! Bring on HALLOWEEN!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Good morning friends! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! If you are an avid reader of my blog, than you know I made a huge change over the weekend! On Saturday I cut 8 inches off of my hair to donate in honor of my mother to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths.
If you haven't read about my Mom's journey, you can do so here: http://initforthelonghaulbarb.blogspot.com/

I knew when my parents sat me down a few month's before my wedding and told me that my mother's cancer had returned, that I wanted to donate my hair.  So I started growing it just a few months after our wedding and finally now, it was long enough! Thank goodness by the way, because this 4 month's postpartum shed has been driving me insane! Momma's, can I get an Amen?

I made an appointment with my stylist, Tiffany with Shears To You and My parent's came with me to watch the change (okay, my Dad mainly came to hold the baby, he's not a fan of the short hair thing!) But I was so happy to have my Mom there! It really meant a lot!

Here are the pictures of my transformation:

Before, can you tell my hair was in a pony? lol

Here's the big cut!
Love Tiffany, girl cracks me up!
8 inches, gone!!!
Here is the finished look! I LOVE it! Thanks Tiffany!!!

Best picture of the day!(Which is why I saved it for last!) My Mom and I!

I know My mother is going through a rough and scary time, and I was so thankful that she came with me! If you would keep my Mother in your thoughts or prayers, we would be thankful! She starts the process of a new treatment tomorrow!
I love you Mom!

4 months of Hallie Anne

I just can't believe my baby is 4 months already! I know I say that every time she turns another month older, but holy cow! Hallie Anne, the main reason I blog is you! I want you to be able to look back on your day to day life as a little one and be able to see all the fun we had and see how much mommy loves you. So here is a little note for Big Kid Hallie-
        Dear Hallie Anne,
Well October 21st has come and gone and 1/3rd of your first year of life has flown by in a blink of an eye!  While it feels like just yesterday that Daddy and I were welcoming you into our lives, oohing and aahing over your thick dark hair, big blue eyes and teeny tiny fingers and toes, in some ways I feel like I have known you forever! The squeaky noises you make, that HUGE smile you have, and those same big blue eyes that stare up at me feel like home.  You and Daddy and our lives together is what I always wanted, what I have been dreaming of my whole life! You were the piece that was missing and now  that I've found you, I don't need anything else.
You make your Daddy and I so happy! Everyone who meets you instantly loves you! You have this way of lighting up any room and making anyone smile! You are the happiest baby! You smile and giggle all the time!
I love watching you learn and experience new things, you are constantly exploring!  I feel so blessed that God chose me to be your mommy! I am one very lucky mommy to be able to call such a sweet, beautiful, happy, smart baby girl my daughter!
Mommy loves you and I know that you are growing into an amazing little person! Happy 4 months little peanut!
Hugs and Kisses,
-Mommy

Here is some more about Little Miss Hallie Anne-
  • Age- 4 months!
  • Weight-  10 lb. 2 oz! Finally double digits and finally bigger than her Daddy was when he was born!
  • Length- 23 inches! She is a long skinny girl!
  • Size- We are still in newborn diapers and mostly newborn onesies.  I have been putting some of the 3 month pants on her because of her length, but usually they are a bit big in the waist! She is just sooo skinny! Now with her PJs, I just pulled out a lot of the 0-3  and 3 month ones  for her length! She is just so LONG!
  • Eyes- Still blue! I hope they stay blue! They are just darling! BIG BLUE inquisitive eyes!
  • Hair- Brown, but seems to be getting lighter. She also has her Daddy's cowlick!
  • Sleeping- 10-12 hour stretches at night! (Generally 7pm to 6 or 7 am) Usually takes 3 small naps during the day!
  • Eating- Aside from the night we still eat every 3 hours.  She is on formula and takes 3-4 ounces at a time. The Dr said that she can start rice cereal as soon as she finishes her formula switch (we are switching to a more sensitive one) so updates on that to come!
  • Milestones- We have rolled! Several times from belly to back! She is getting VERY close at back to belly, but hasn't quite made it over yet! I also swear this  girl is trying to figure out the crawling thing! She is getting really good at practicing sitting! She will also try to pull herself to a standing position when she is i my lap! She is babbling more and more, and putting every toy she sees straight in her mouth! If she doesn't have a toy she will just shove her whole fist in there! Teething soon maybe?
  • Memorable outings- Storyime/playgroup, Babies R Us Halloween, Seeing Sarah, etc.
  • Favorite toys/activities- Still loves ceiling fans and mirrors, Hello Kitty Blocks, Owl rattle, Dolly, rings, Firefly, Very Hungry Caterpillar, etc.  Loves books! A girl after my own heart! We read before bed every night! Also loves the rhymes we do at story time! Particularly (Tick Tock, Horse named Ron and Patty Cake!) Loves to play with Stella
  • Words/sounds- Imitating sounds a little. Has started saying "Ooh Ooh" to herself usually in the mirror or sometimes to her BFF the ceiling fan!
  • Nicknames- I call her sweet pea, peanut, sweet girl or Hal...Daddy likes to call her Daniel son when I put headbands on her...but other than that sticks to a generic sweetie or cutie!
  • Funny moments- She sticks her tongue out almost all the time now! It's hard to catch a picture of her smiling because it usually involves a tongue hanging out too! lol Yay for upcoming Christmas pictures! Also have you seen this adorable video of her playing with Stella
  • Looking forward to- Each and every moment! I can't wait for Halloween and even more excited to see her little face light up at Christmas! I know she's going to love all the decorations!
Can't wait to see what the next month will bring, but Lord, slow it down! I need to savor this just a little big more!
Kelly
